ALICE (Alert, Lock-down, Inform, Counter, and Evacuate), developed after Columbine, teaches research-based strategies to survive a life-threatening event. ALICE has been adopted in more than 40,000 schools, universities, businesses, non-profits and healthcare institutions, and the program is emulated  by federal and state agencies including the Department of Homeland Security, the Department of Education, FEMA and state governments across the country.
