A management consultant to nonprofits and government, Sara Peterson provides practical governance and board development assistance as well as a wide range of planning and facilitation, evaluation, and organizational assessments – guiding clients in strategy, governance, and management.

Sara began her career as a government attorney but soon shifted to consulting. Since 1998, she has assisted well over 200 organizations including numerous arts nonprofits and funders. In that time, she has since consulted from within a philanthropic advisory firm, a national accounting firm, and most recently as an independent practitioner.

Described as a 'respectful, warm, intentional facilitator', Sara's work as a trainer on a range of nonprofit management and governance topics has included sessions for Association of Governmental Risk Pools, the American Society of Association Executives, and the American Evaluation Association – all built on graduate study in nonprofit management, her juris doctors, and her BoardSource Certificate in Nonprofit Board Consulting.
