Nan is a licensed attorney in Texas and Washington State with 30 years experience representing clients in both the public and private sectors.  Much of her work has involved advising school district boards of trustees and administrators regarding federal and state laws on governance, employment issues, student discipline and special education law.  Nan has represented her educational clients before administrative judges, state and federal trial and appellate courts.

Nan currently serves as general counsel to the Texas Association of Public Schools Property and Liability Fund, a risk management pool comprised of public school districts, junior colleges and educational service centers.
